ENGLISH: Your full name, age, location ?

OLI: Oriol "Oli" Benet, 25, Barcelona, Spain

ENGLISH: How long have you been skating?

OLI: Agressive since 1997, rollerskating since...about 1990 I would say...

ENGLISH: Who do you skate for? (sponsors)

OLI: ProTeam Deshi, Stygma and Undercover, and also flowed anything else conference related...Kizer and Sifika.
Back in the day...good question!! it depends how far back. At the begginig i liked any skater that skated Roces 5th elements, because i had those skates, and it made me feel I could learn the same tricks as them! I liked watching Jon Bergeron, damn I can't remember most of the names! Josh Petty a lot, Randy Spizer...then later on Kevin Gillan, Chris Cheshire, Sean Kelso, Latimer...

ENGLISH: What are your favorite spots to skate?

OLI: Definately handrails, it depends on my mood, but i most enjoy long rails to balance out, or mellow stuff to switch up on, and ever so often something big to get adrenaline pumping...I like exploring mostly, trying to conquer new spots...i never like to leave a spot without having completed it.

ENGLISH:Do you have any new projects for the future?

OLI:Lots and lots, including a very exciting one with frames and new frame technology that im really, really excited about. Its going to be very big. Also in terms of music, I want to get more seriously into that...

ENGLISH: What movies did you star in and wich one pleased you the most?

OLI: um, I have had profiles in Los Elegidos, Dystopian Pleasures, Lords of Movement, Undercover and a few mini profiles in London films, and appearances in loads of videos from around the world. To be honest I didn't like any of them, they were all filmed in a rush, most in about 1 or 2 weeks, or random footage. As far as I am concerned i am working on my first serious profile with time and good tricks for Kenneths video "Riot" out later this year.

ENGLISH: Are you into any other activities besides rollerblading?

OLI: Music. Drum and Bass is as a part of me as rollerblading. I will go to 3 DnB nights a week and often i MC also, and I have a lot of good friends from that world...So yes!!

ENGLISH: What sacrifices did you make for this sport?

OLI: guess the most important is School. I had great grades always, but I got way too distracted by rollerblading, which meant I moved to Spain from London, instead of going to University, and just rollerbladed and worked. I do not regret it 1 tiny tiny bit. Also my body has suffered, but my character has strengthened. Rollerblading with no regrets

ENGLISH: What was your best, and what was your worst experience in rollerblading?

OLI: The greatest thing is being able to work for such an incredible and important company in rolling, The Conference. Their continuing trust in me really makes all these years of rolling worthwhile. Best skating experience I think was winning the True Street battle in Madrid. It was definately a big step in my rolling career. Other highs were the conference tour, getting a pro-wheel, seing people skate my pro wheel, Stygma selling out twice as soon as it came out, loads of stuff really, rollerblading has given me so much happiness!!Bad points...when i went through a couple of years where my ankle was so weak i twisted it every time i skated. And those periods everyone has where you just cant learn anything new, and your scared even to do the stuff you usually do easily.

ENGLISH: Which is the most important thing when you rollerblade?

OLI: ts easy to say having fun...but i guess its true. And to be productive. Get photos and video at every spot. Skate clean, spin out, get stuff well done. And go home hurting, because you know you tried hard!!

ENGLISH: Which are the most important contest you have participated? Best results?

OLI: Um, I suck at comps really. The best result was the True Street Contest in madrid, back in 2002, that was a big comp, with a lot of big names. Then a few street comps, I came second in X-battle Vitoria last year, 4th in Madrid i think it was...I suck bad at park comps, i think my best result in a park comp is third...i just dont get fired up, it feels so boring for me...i like big rails in comps...I prefer to shoot video or photo independantly than kill myself at a comp, kids go crazy nowadays and im too old to risk my life trying to battle a 15 year old crazy kid, haha

ENGLISH: What skating videos do you like the most? Wich skater? And why?

OLI: ummm...Cirque du soleil, because its fun to watch. i dont have any skate DVDs really, i dont have time and i get bored watching them. Sorry!! But there are some skaters i can watch over and over, Cheshire, Sagona, Sean Kelso...and a few more

ENGLISH: combination and favourite trick

OLI: switchups, definately budgets, I LOVE budgets. And then favourite tricks backslides, true top soyales, torque slides....

ENGLISH: Who do you prefer most of all to skate with?

OLI: Rosca, Martin, Kenneth....and skatepark, Juanjo.

ENGLISH: What music do you prefer?

OLI: Drum & Bass always first, then Psytrance, Dubstep...

ENGLISH: Are you planing to come to romainia anytime soon?

OLI: I dont know? nothing planned but im hoping to visit every country in the world at some point!!!except maybe iraq at the moment...

ENGLISH: Have you ever heard of any romanian rollerblader? and if so, what's your opinion?

OLI: I know Ene Stefan personally. I also have a lot of emails from romanian skaters who look really good. I really want to take an interest in Romania because there seems to be a good vibe and a lot of energy and progression in rolling there...

ENGLISH: last question, what's your advice to the youth of rollerblading?

OLI: Just have fun. Don't try and make a living from rollerblading, just skate to have fun, make friends, build personality and character, stretch your body to the limits, experience things people who dont skate will never feel, and pass the message on. If the industry grows, that means a great future for all of us involved.
