English: Your full name, age, location?
Christian: Christian Delfino, 19 years, Sarasota - Florida, USA
English: How long have you been skating?
Christian: About 7 years
English: Who do you skate for? (sponsors)
Christian: V-Town2 Surf and Skate (local shop)
English:How did you get to where you are now?
Christian: By staying dedicated, sticking to the sport despite the fact a lot of my friends have quit skating through the years.
English:Was it hard for you?
Christian: Nah, I wouldn't say hard, but it is discouraging to see so many people stop skating, and it gets a little boring when there aren't a bunch of people to skate with.
English: What are your favorite spots to skate?
Christian: I love ledges and mellow stair rails. Creative stuff is always fun to skate. But I hate sketchy spots that are easy to get hurt on.
English: Do you have any new projects for the future?
Christian: Me and a friend are working on a media project (TheAntidoteCollective) and I am going to school for photography, so I will be using that in the future as a career and hobby.
English: And what's the project about?
Christian: Basically a collaboration of his filming and editing, my photography, as well as some other artists, mostly focused on rollerblading
English: What movies did you star in and wich one pleased you the most?
Christian: Only hyphy , Im not that good, hah. But videos that I like include Black Market, Barely Dead, 1131, Freestyle Rolling, The Heat Team Video, Accidental Machines
English: Are you into any other activities besides rollerblading?
Christian: Yeah, Photography, like I said is my second passion, which Im going to school for now, as well as traveling, chillen with my friends, women, and partying!
English: How does a normal day of your life look?
Christian: Well, I usually wake up fairly early, and I will either have school or work. (I work at the local skateshop V-Town2) and then after school or work, its time to skate the park, or one of a few local spots, and then either shoot some photos, chill with my friends, or work on school projects, then get to sleep and do it all over again the next day!
English: What sacrifices did you make for this sport?
Christian: I wouldnt say anything major, just trying to put all my free time towards the sport. As well as getting injured, I have broken my arm pretty badly, sprained me ankle badly, messed up my wrist, back, neck, knee, and tons of other minor stuff.
English: Which is the most important thing when you skate?
Christian: When its a good spot, good positive friends, and good music, nothing can go wrong....I like to make the trick look clean, and try my hardest.
English: What was your best, and what was your worst experience in rollerblading?
Christian: Best experience: I don't think I can pick one, but traveling to Seattle, Washington and attending barn burner, going to skate Key West, Florida, as well as anytime I get real juiced on a session. Worst Experience: This would have to be breaking my arm (compound fracture), like 20 stitches, two metal plates, 12 screws, and two big ass scars.
English: Which are the most important contests you have participated in? Best results?
Christian: Contests, ah I haven't competed in a contest for years, so I cant really say.
English: Who's your favourite skater and why?
Christian: I'd have to say Chris Cheshire just because of his style, and he seems cool based on the interviews I have read on him
English: What's your favourite combination and favourite trick?
Christian: I really like AO top soul and AO top acid..... as for switch-ups, I like true soul to top soul ( trying to get that)
English: Have you ever heard of any romanian rollerblader? and if so, what's your opinion?
Christian: I'm sure I have, but I cant remember names, Romania has mad talent though, I wish I lived in Europe, seems like everything is better over there, and people seem to be more friendly! Damn America
English: Last question, what's your advice to the youth of rollerblading?
Christian: I think that people just need to remember how fun skating is, its like rollerblading has turned into a business and people are mocking style, clothing, music taste and everything. Everyone wants to start up a new company. People just need to rollerblade, get people involved locally and do things to promote it in their own town. _________________ No Biking, No Skateboarding, Know Rollerblading |
